| We’re growing! Apex Mills, a textile industry leader, is seeking an Administrative Sales Assistant to join us in our corporate offices located in Nassau County, within walking distance to the LIRR (45 minutes from Manhattan).

| The work environment is fast-paced and team oriented, and you'll be working with a visible and accessible senior sales team. We are looking for self-motivated and highly organized people to join us in this exciting time as we grow to meet today’s demanding challenges. The Administrative Sales Assistant will be on the “front line” with existing customers as well as play a key role in new customer development.

| REQUIREMENTS: |
 |
| 2+ years’ experience in an administrative sales or customer support role |
 |
| Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; must be able and willing to learn new computer programs |
 |
| Effective written and verbal communication skills and listening skills |
 |
| Must be organized, detail oriented and have a strong sense of urgency |
 |
 |
| THE SALES ASSISTANT WILL: |
 |
|
Answer inquiries from potential and existing customers, provide new customer leads to Sales Manager and fulfill orders for existing customers
|
 |
| Input all orders and customer information into sales system including price quotes, updated contact information, shipping requirements, PO’s, etc., and ensure that database remains current and accurate |
 |
| Initiate and follow up on customer orders, send acknowledgements and create supporting documentation |
 |
| Ensure order compliance, working closely with other Apex departments |
 |
| Send samples & fabric specs to customers upon request |
 |
| Utilize CRM software for new leads and customer maintenance (will train) |
 |

| Warp Knit Technician |
 |

| APEX MILLS, a U.S. based textile supplier and manufacturer, creates innovative warp knit fabric solutions. Our far reaching expertise has been achieved by supplying mesh, netting, tricot knit and 3D spacer fabrics to an ever expanding array of consumer, industrial and government related industries for over seventy years. |

| The Warp Knit Technician will set up all warp-knit machinery including double-needle bar raschel machine (MAYER Spacer Machine) to knit orders according to customer specifications. Will also set up machines for Research and Development or sample production purposes. |
 |
| Check all warp knit machines daily to ensure everything is in working order. |
 |
| Recognize, troubleshoot and repair any machinery issues including: broken needles, guides, stitch combs, etc. Maintain machines for optimal performance. |
 |
| Build pattern chains as required. |
 |
| Perform style-changes according to customer specifications for both R&D (sample production) and order fulfillment. |
 |
| Change warp outs; working with all deniers of yarn from 15 - 1000. |
 |
| Thread machines as necessary (will train). |
 |
| KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: |
 |
| Previous experience working on warp knit machinery including maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and style-changing. |
 |
| Experience working with double-needle bar raschel machine (MAYER Spacer Machine) preferred. |
 |
| Ability to verify mathematical / measurement information manually. |
 |
| Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications. |
 |
| Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4pm |
 |

| Textile Apprenticeship - Knitting Machine Operator |
 |

| You will learn to: |
 |
| Monitor all material and warp knitting machines for imperfections, defects, warp outs and maintenance issues. |
 |
| Inspect products to ensure that specifications are met and determine if machines need adjustment. |
 |
| Thread multiple yarn ends into guide bars on warp knit machines. |
 |
| Repair knitting defects by sewing defects in fabric according to specifications. |
 |
| Document fabric information on piece tickets, doff cards and production cards. |
 |
| KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: |
 |
| Must be able to walk continuously for two hours, twice during an 8 hour shift with breaks at regular intervals. |
 |
| Must be able to stand for an 8 hour shift. |
 |
| Must be willing to wear headphones or ear plugs. |
 |
| Competitive starting hourly rate with significant opportunity for advancement based on training and position availability. |

| 2nd shift: Monday - Friday 4pm - 12am |
 |
| 3rd shift: 12am - 8am |
 |
