Back to School & Back to Business

October will be a busy month for us here at Apex Mills! We’re looking forward to exhibiting at two trademark shows in the textiles industry: AUSA and IFAI.

The Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting and Exposition will take place October 3rd through the 5th in Washington, DC and provides professional development to support the needs of the U.S. Army, including: Active Duty, Army National Guard, Army Reserve, Department of the Army Civilians, and Retirees and Family Members.

For over a quarter of a century, we’ve been partnering with our armed services and the DOD to provide textiles that meet the rigorous demands of our forces. Today, we are looking to move forward with the DOD to evaluate and engineer new materials, integrating technology into fabrics that can read body signals and send messages to keep our soldiers safe. Visit us at booth 717 to see how capable and proud we are of assisting the U.S. Army with innovative fabrics that are Berry Amendment compliant and 100% manufactured in the U.S.A.

On the heels of AUSA, the Industrial Fabrics Association International (IFAI) will hold their annual Expo in Charlotte, NC on October 18th through the 21st.  At the show, participants learn about solutions and products that are changing the textile industry. Topics such as specialty fabrics, shade and weather protection, and advanced textiles will be just a few of the topics covered. The Expo is ideal for any industry professional that wants to learn more about and understand the changing landscape of the textile industry. Learn about Apex Mills’ capabilities at booth A1229.  We’ve recently added a new electronic 7-bar spacer machine with the speed and agility to change patterns within a single knit run and we will be showcasing some of these newer designs.

These trade shows forecast upcoming trends in the industry, and as textiles continue to evolve, companies are turning to us to develop fabric solutions for their leading-edge applications. For example, technology in medical fabrics has improved protection for patients and healthcare professionals. In addition, we are seeing leaps in specialized textiles used for surgical mesh, cardiovascular and abdominal wall patches. With the resurgence of the automotive industry, new materials are being explored to improve sound absorption and air flow. In the office furniture market, product designers seek performance fabrics that can enhance comfort and functionality.

Apex Mills is committed to serving our customers and we look forward to seeing you at these shows. Come on by or if you can’t make the show, call us at 516-239-4400 or send an email to info@apexmills.com. Tell us about your application and we’ll work with you to find the perfect fabric solution.
