Apex Mills acquires Hanesbrands Inc. facility in Stuart, Virginia expanding its elastomeric knitting and dyeing and finishing capabilities.

Inwood, NY (January 12, 2023) – 

Apex Mills, a leading domestic supplier of specialty knit textile solutions, has acquired the Hanesbrands Inc., Stuart, Virginia fabric manufacturing facility.  The 240,000 square foot facility houses warp knit tricot, raschel and Rascheltronic equipment as well as a full dye house with both jet and beam dyeing capabilities.  This operation has a long and storied history of producing critical quality elastomeric textiles for the intimate apparel and shapewear industries.  

Now, operating under the name Insight Textiles, this facility will allow Apex Mills to extend the scope of its products to include elastomeric fabrics to the orthopedic, medical, hospitality and home furnishing industries.  Additionally, the dye and finish operations will provide greater variety of treatments to Apex’s current diverse spectrum of innovative fabric solutions.  Future plans for growth include additional knitting, warping, finishing and surface treatment capabilities.
