Problem Shared. Problem Solved. A 75-Year-Old Legacy that’s Still Going Strong

The year was 1943. We were in the midst of World War II, the Great Depression was ending, Mick Jagger was born, and Milton Kurz, a young entrepreneur from Long Island, NY packed a suitcase with fabric samples and set out to start a business.

Learn More About Our Textiles

The economy was uncertain and catering to a select few companies was not a concept destined to succeed. But, Mr. Kurz saw opportunity; he looked to the future, knocked on doors in New York’s garment district and sold premium fabric. He would buy quality greige goods, have them dyed and finished at the best facilities and always delivered on his promises. By building relationships, listening to his customer’s concerns, and identifying solutions for them, Mr. Kurz was able to expand his product line, employ more people, and open a mill where he could design custom and patented textiles.

Apex Mills not only survived its initial years but also leveraged the initiative of its employees and the word-of-mouth customer referrals to leap from bridal fabrics to innovative technical textiles in a matter of a few short years.

Problem shared. Problem solved.

Today, that same proactive approach has brought Apex Mills to its Diamond Jubilee celebration – a rich legacy that spans 75 years.
